eQOURSE built a multilingual production model supported by 30+ Subject Matter Experts from different language regions across India.
The workflow connected academic development and language adaptation rather than treating them as separate production silos.
The overall process followed:
SME Collaboration → Content Design → Script Development → Pen-Tab Production → Native-Language Narration → Worksheet Alignment → QA → Delivery
1. Build the Right SME Network First
eQOURSE assembled a network of more than 30 Subject Matter Experts covering the linguistic and academic requirements of the programme.
The team supported:
- Kannada
- Telugu
- Tamil
- Marathi
- Hindi
- English
Experts were drawn from different language regions so the lessons could benefit from the way academic concepts are naturally explained to learners in those languages.
This was important.
The project needed people who could recognise the difference between a translation that was technically acceptable and an explanation that a student would actually find natural.
The wider network connected with eQOURSE's Subject Matter Expert services while being structured specifically for multilingual K12 production.
2. Get SMEs From Different Languages Talking to Each Other
The language teams did not operate completely independently.
Collaborative SME discussions were used to resolve questions around terminology, examples, curriculum meaning, and explanation style.
Teams considered questions such as:
- Does this terminology sound natural?
- Does the translated explanation preserve the same concept?
- Would a learner at this class level understand it?
- Does the example work in another language?
- Is literal translation appropriate here?
- Is the difficulty equivalent across versions?
This collaboration gave individual language teams room to adapt the lesson naturally while keeping the academic objective fixed.
3. Keep One Curriculum Standard Across All Six Languages
Before production, the learning content was aligned with the relevant curriculum expectations for Classes 5–9.
The team established what students were expected to learn before deciding how each language version should express it.
Consistency was maintained across:
- Topic coverage
- Learning objectives
- Concept sequence
- Difficulty
- Examples
- Practice requirements
This distinction mattered.
Localisation changed how a concept was communicated. It did not change what the student was expected to learn.

4. Write Video Lessons for Listening and Watching
Textbook writing and video writing are different.
A paragraph that works well on a printed page can become difficult to follow when spoken aloud while information is appearing on screen.
Scripts were therefore written specifically for the pen-tab format.
Lessons focused on:
- Introducing one idea clearly
- Breaking difficult concepts into smaller steps
- Explaining key terminology
- Demonstrating examples
- Reinforcing important points
- Maintaining appropriate pacing
- Closing with a clear takeaway
The aim was to make the lesson easier to follow without over-simplifying the subject.
5. Localise the Explanation, Not Just the Words
Once the academic structure was established, each language version was adapted for its intended learners.
Direct translation was used where it worked.
Where it did not, the language was adjusted while preserving the original academic meaning.
Reviewers looked at:
- Sentence structure
- Academic terminology
- Regional familiarity
- Age appropriateness
- Natural speech
- Clarity
- Cultural relevance
This made the content feel closer to native educational communication than a translated master script.

6. Turn the Scripts Into Pen-Tab Lessons
Approved scripts moved into pen-tab production.
The format allowed concepts to develop visually while the instructor explained them.
Depending on the subject, the presenter could:
- Write definitions
- Solve problems
- Draw diagrams
- Explain formulas
- Highlight key information
- Demonstrate individual steps
- Annotate examples in real time
Students could therefore watch the reasoning develop instead of only seeing a finished answer or static page.

7. Use Narration That Sounded Natural in Each Language
Narration needed to do more than match the written script.
It also had to move naturally with what students were seeing on the pen-tab screen.
Delivery was therefore reviewed for:
- Clarity
- Pronunciation
- Natural pacing
- Age appropriateness
- Academic terminology
- Synchronisation with the lesson
- Ease of understanding
Native-language delivery helped keep the explanation authentic to the learner's language rather than sounding like translated content being read aloud.
8. Create Worksheets Around the Same Learning Objective
Worksheets were developed as part of the lesson, not after it.
Each worksheet connected with the concept covered in the corresponding video.
Activities gave students opportunities to:
- Recall important points
- Practise the concept
- Apply what they had learned
- Check their understanding
- Reinforce retention
This meant the video and worksheet performed different but complementary roles.
The video explained.
The worksheet made the student use that explanation.
9. Run Six Language Streams at the Same Time
Meeting the client's timeline required parallel production.
Multiple language teams worked simultaneously on:
- Content
- Scripts
- Localisation
- Pen-tab production
- Narration
- Worksheets
- Review
A shared academic framework kept the teams aligned while allowing language-specific work to progress independently.
This avoided the inefficiency of completing one language before beginning another.
It also made the model more scalable for future multilingual projects.
10. Control Rework to Control Cost
Budget efficiency came from process design.
Using clear curriculum requirements, native-language SMEs, common production standards, and defined review stages helped reduce avoidable corrections later in the workflow.
This mattered because late-stage changes to narration or completed videos are considerably more expensive than correcting an issue during script review.
Quality was therefore checked as content moved through production rather than relying only on a final inspection.
11. Deliver Before the Client Needed It
The complete programme was delivered before the agreed deadline.
For the client, early completion created useful implementation time.
Instead of receiving the materials immediately before deployment, the organisation gained additional time to:
- Onboard schools
- Prepare teachers
- Coordinate implementation
- Review deployment requirements
- Plan dissemination
Early delivery therefore created operational value beyond simply finishing the production work faster.

Long-Term Impact
The project demonstrated an important distinction in multilingual education:
Making content available in another language is not the same as making learning work in that language.
The difference came from involving native-language academic experts early enough to influence the lesson itself.
Students across different regions could access the same core curriculum while receiving explanations designed to sound natural in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Hindi, or English.
The combination of video and worksheets added another layer.
Students could first watch an expert work through the concept and then practise it themselves.
That created a simple but effective learning sequence:
See it → Understand it → Try it → Reinforce it
From an operational perspective, the programme also showed that multilingual production does not have to happen one language at a time.
With common academic standards and a distributed network of 30+ SMEs, six language workstreams could progress in parallel while remaining aligned.
